entering the wasteland

When following your dreams there is always a point that you get to that I like to refer to as "the wasteland".  This is a point where you have gone so far into your journey and then come to a complete (or almost) stop> then you find yourself wondering "have I been wasting my time all these years?".  This is never a fun time for anyone because no one likes to feel like they have been chasing a pipe dream. Much like being stuck in the Sahara with no sign of life in all directions and no clue which way to walk (for each direction could lead to either life or death> achieving your goals or falling flat on your face) and you find yourself feeling alone and helpless........

What do humans do when they feel completely helpless?> they look to a higher power for guidance. I believe that God allows you to go through a period such as this in order to remind you that your dreams are possible but that you cannot do it on your own and that you need his help.  It's the creator's way of making you stop, think, and re-connect to the source of your dream

The wasteland is a test of character and of faith.... if you can remain in the wasteland for some time and still continue to believe in your dreams then that proves your faith and you WILL find what it is you search for in the end.

Just like the Jews in the old testament who crossed the desert and lived in the wilderness for 38 years before entering their promise land....you too will cross your own desert and wilderness ,but I assure you, if your look up to the one in whom everything is possible, and keep your eye on the goal you WILL enter your promise land >and realize your greatest dreams!

May God bless you on your journey

One night when I was about 18 years old (when I made the decision to follow my dreams) I was having a hard time because family members were not being supportive and I was frightened at the thought of moving away from home,  and having to leave behind my friends and family and the only life I had known .......

I remember sitting on my bedroom floor crying while trying to meditate by candle light in hopes that I would receive some form of peace or guidance when all of a sudden in my mind's eye I found myself in a white room surrounded by beings of light.  The beings were similar to a human except that I could not make out any clothing or body parts but only light in the shape of a body. What I could make out was kind and wispy eyes and what appeared to be a smile.  Each being waved palm branches as they parted and made way for my entrance....

Once I made my way through the beings of light I came to a man in a monk like white robe....he turned to me and said,

"Why are you sad and worried? Do you not know that although your world may feel shaken it is in the palm of my hand and I am not going to let you fall?.... fear not child I am with you."  I opened my eyes and a feeling of peace and calm swept through my being and I did not worry ever again from that moment forward.
